Help with hooking up a powered subwoofer?
I have a stereo system set up at home where I play music through my computer and it comes out of the 1/8th inch jack and I have a cable that switches that to two 1/4th inch jacks that go into 2 inputs of a crown ce 2000 watt amplifier that I have. Then I have two speakon cables which run out of two different Jbl Jrx outputs to two jbl jrx 115 speaker cabinets I have. I am thinking of adding a Powered subwoofer into the setup and have no idea what equipment I need to go about doing that, since its powered theres no need to go through the amplifier. Also the amplifier only has the two inputs and two outputs and no special connection for a subwoofer at all (let alone a powered one). I am thinking I will need something between the 1/8th jack on the computer and the two 1/4 inch jacks on the amplifier that can send out a signal to the powered subwoofer, but then still send out the two output channels to the amplifier (so its still stereo). Any idea what equipment is best for doing this?
