Can a power mixer drive active speakers without any damage?
I have a Yamaha EMX5000 power Rcf Art mixer and I have seen a great deal to buy 2 RCF ART 322Ai Active speakers but am not sure if they are compatible. Can any sound engineer out there please advise in laymans terms?

Use the line out on your mixer to drive the powered speakers… never put a speaker level input into a powered speaker, you’ll fry the input FET
You would need some sort of amplifier. I use a small sony stereo to connect speakers to my PC. My wife has a 2.1 amplifier on hers (because she has a sub as well) I have a sony 7.1 amplifier/ receiver that connects my surround sound to everything else. If you were to hardwire direct from your sound card to this speaker, you would be lucky to hear anything at all because the power from the sound card just wouldn’t be powerful enough (it is only just powerful enough to power earphones)
