I’ve been a bit slow on posting reviews of the last couple of Fender Passport, but it’s time to catch up. Overall, the Fender Passport was great, and I have no problem recommending Fender Passport for anyone wanting one.
I LOVE THIS Fender Passport
Do you know any of these electro acoustics? If so, what do you think about them?

you could have a short in one of the wires, usually the protect light comes on when there is little or no impedance, check your connections, too. also make sure you’re using the speakers that came with it, even though it is possible to hook up other ones, its a good idea to use the ones fender provided. they were made for eachother.
I have used a Fender Passport system and I would not recommend it for DJ’ing. These systems are really designed for vocals and maybe an instrument or two. The speakers are too small.DJ’s need BASS! Get a pair of powered speakers with at least a 15 inch woofer. That is a good starting point for a DJ and you will have decent bass. You will need a DJ mixer and CD players or ipods or whatever.I have a pair of these and they rock for parties:http://www.zzounds.com/item–BEHB215A
You need to include the make and model number of the tv… the passport has several inputs but plugging in a speaker out from the tv (I’m guessing that’s the “red and white output thing” will overdrive a mic, instrument or line input on the passport. Lots of the new flatscreens (the larger ones at least) need speakers (they have internal amps already). So model number and make please…
Sounds like you have bad cables. get some new cables and test them out.
No. A Shure SM 57 is a FARRRR Better mic than comes with that fender setup. It all depends what you’re playing through. In a studio, Pre-Amps are often used to warm up the tone or to add special effects. If your buddy is playing with that crappy mic and speaker set and it’s louder than you, it just means the speaker you have hooked up to the SM57 isnt powerful enough.I suggest getting a more powerful PA system. That should solve your problems. If you don’t believe that the SM57 is a much better mic, get a louder PA system and plug both in. Just talking through the mics should show you.Just a little info on the SM57 – It’s quite possibly the best sounding microphone for the money, versitility, and durability. Studio engineers use them all over the world as the standard or guitar amps, drums, vocals, pianos.. pretty much anything. Same thing live. They’re also relatively cheap and are extremely road-worthy.
its a good system if you are addressing an audience, but i wouldn’t use it for DJing. you should try this: http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-VMX100-Scratch-Mixer-with-BPM-Counter?sku=802020 and if you dont want to buy an amp and speakers you could try this: http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-EUROLIVE-B212A-Active-2Way-Loudspeaker?sku=600735 if those arnt what you want then you could buy an amp and speakers seperate
I’m not directly familiar with that system, but I would have to suggest that it can’t be done easily, without at least an adaptor of some kind. Most bluetooth headsets available rely on the bluetooth radio inside the cell phone to work, without that radio sending the audio the headset isn’t much help. What you would need is probably something like this:http://www.amazon.com/Wirevo-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headset-Adapter/dp/B001JHRHJUwhich comes with a small bluetooth radio that has a plug that would adapt a normal corded headset plug to work with a bluetooth headset. The problem you then run into is getting the correct size of plug, and getting a plug configuration that will work properly with the system.Hope this helps!
first of all, did you mean an output of 250 amps or 250 watts…there’s a big difference. second of all, assuming you meant watts, it shouldn’t matter. speaker wattage ratings are for max power, meaning that the new speakers could handle 300 watts maximum before the get overpowered. the fact that your amp would only send 250 is probably a good thing, you shouldn’t have to worry about blowing the speakers. it shouldn’t really effect the sound. i have had one experience with the fender system where we had too many instruments running into it and i think we overloaded it. it kinda cut the volume of everything and sounded pretty crappy, so make sure you keep it away from the max power rating.hope this helps.
