How does gain work on a mixing board?
I know that gain on a specific channel increases the volume of the channel, Channel Mixing as does the volume control slider, as well as increasing the high, mid, and lo eq bands equally, but how do these differ? And what guidelines should I know for setting up the gain of various channels properly?Thanks!

To open a new TV channel, (I’m assuming you’re talking about a local TV station, not a satellite channel for cable distribution.You first need an FCC license. These are difficult to get, as you must show a “public need” for the new channel. Very often, someone locally will challenge your application, hoping to get “greenmail” money to drop their objection to your channel.If you do get an FCC license, then you get a “construction permit.” This allows you to erect the transmitter and and antenna. And now the heavy costs begin. The building (which may be rented) will need to be large, for offices and studios. (Even if you do only a small amount of programming from the station, you need studio space.) Broadcast quality cameras are expensive, and you will soon be required to broadcast in High Definition, which is even more expensive. I think normally it has to be the same type. I may depend on type of motherboard. Go to manufacturers webiste (of motherboard) and look up manual.On mine, (Abit NF-7 v2) all the memory cards inserted ahve to be the same.

You can still do media streaming with a mac!Download Vuze for mac and it has a streaming option. i also have a youtube account: mattyboy9091) make your display picture (channel picture) noticeable and try to match it to your channel, in your case a funny picture.2) put more tags on your videos so it it more easily found3) dont put messages on your vids saying please subscribe or stuff like that because most people will think you are just some guy who wants subscribers.

On a very basic level…Plug the mic into a channel on the desk using an XLR mic cable.Set the preamp gain such that the channel signal is strong, but not clipping.Leave the EQ flat, although (depending on what the mic is being used for) you might want to engage a HPF/lo-cut if the mixer has it (or just EQ out some lows).Make sure the channel is assigned to the main outputs (not sure if such a small mixer would have this anyway).Run the L+R main outputs of the mixer to the powered speakers using two XLR cables. Turn the speaker on, and I would probably set their operating level / input gain to unity, so you have the most control over the volume from the desk.Bring the master fader and channel fader up to the appropriate desired levels.

You cannot do it with your current equipment – sorry.You at least need an USB interface with enough inputs for each mic you want to record. That will get expensive.An easier way to go it to record your drums with fewer mics. See this great free book from Shure on recording drums. It would all run at 1333MHz. Assuming that you put the modules in the correct sockets it should run in dual channel mode.
I would definitely NOT try to have both DDR2 and DDR3 memory plugged in at the same time. The ram types work differently, so they almost certainly won’t play nice together. BEST case scenario the motherboard would be smart enough to disable one or the other…. worst case massive system instability and crashes.As for dual channel vs single channel, again I don’t think the computer can mix and match. If you have dual channel capable ram, and you’re running it paired with single channel ram, the motherboard will set both down to single channel. I’m pretty sure that the dual channel (or even tripple channel) is purely a motherboard issue though, and has nothing to do with the specific ram chip.
Is the tv cable ready? (You have the coax cable going directly into the tv and you select the channel from the tv not a converter box) If so you need to check to see if your settings on the TV are set to cable not AIR then if that is okay it is most likely you tv tuner going bad…. TV REPAIR SHOP time…
