You need a loop function to do that and I don’t think the Digitech has that, but read the specs to be sure. The Line 6 JM4 is the ultimate for what you want to do. Not only does it loop but it’s a recording station with built-in drum tracks for practicing chord progressions and full jam tracks to play lead over. A guitar amp is the #1 thing to swap out when looking for new or better tone.The RP series pedals are not great IMO and running them though your same amp will not gain anything…Look into a Roland cube amp if you are on a small budget but be aware they dont line FX pedals really…like modeling FX pedals since they are modeling amps.also check out Ultimate-guitar.com
Both do not produce the same sound, not even close. Individual stomp box pedals sound far superior to multi-effects pedals. Like everything in life there is a trade off. With traditional stomp box pedals you get far better sound but the downside is that they are more expensive, take up more room and require a pedal board or more time to connect them together at each gig. Multi-Effects pedals have the advantage of being less expensive and more portable/convenient, but at the expense of inferior sound. It’s just that simple. That being said, some folks just don’t have the ear to tell the difference just like some can’t hear the superior tone of a tube amp compared to solid state. I can only assume these are the people buying that stuff. Of course some will be forced to buy this equipment because of budget constraints.
It should have a battery option. (I have the RP200A)& you do need 2 cables: one to go from the guitar to the RP90 & from the RP90 to the amp.

I don’t know anything about the Digitech RP200 – though I heard it was sweet! I played rockabilly for years, and all guitarists have their preferences, but here are some of the common sounds that you might want to go for.1. A mild and somewhat sharp distortion. You’ll want to get a classic, tube sound, that almost sounds clean. The only difference is that the higher strings should have a sort of sharp, and slightly distorted snap to them. This can be achieved by finding a good distortion setting to build off of. Only crank the gain up to maybe 6 and no higher. Turn down the low just a tad before 5. Set the treble for 6 or maybe even higher. If you have a “shape” setting, crank it up pretty high.On my old amp I had almost everything set on 6. You want all of the tones to be even, and not too much low sound.2. Reverb. The choice amount is up to you. I never used to use too much, but you’ll probably want as much as any blues guitarist would use.3. Techniques. Rockabilly techniques like the approach to finger picking are what really creates most of the sound.
Yes – pretty much any pedal will work with any amp. That is a small practice type amp – not really meant for playing live – made for your bedroom.

The RP-200A is the older version of the current RP-250. I would choose either of them over the RP-150 because of the expression / wah pedal. The pedal can also be used for pitch shifting. You’ll like it. I couldn’t live without a wah pedal.I would probably choose the newer RP-250 because it adds stomp box distortion models and the sound should be slightly better than the 200A because it’s the next generation. But, if you can pick up a RP-200A for under $100.00 or something… there’s nothing wrong with getting a sweet deal on a closeout product. I just stole a GNX3 for $250.00 shipped myself… Great deal!!! Having lots of fun trying to use the built-in multi-track recorder to build songs.I don’t think you can go wrong with Digitech in that price-range. Good choice!!! The Vox ToneLab LE Valvetronix is supposed to be about the best sounding lower-priced multi-effects unit, but it’s $400.00 and I really wanted to play with the multi-track recorder on the Digitech. Plus it was selling for half price… I like it, it’s sounding great and I don’t regret my choice a bit. I think the Digitech stuff beats the Line 6 POD stuff hands down.

yes you canyou can go through each individual effect by using the edit button, then the value button. i HIGHLY recommend you read the manual. my friend has the RP50, and i had no clue how to use it. after i read the manual, i understood everything. i also suggest you watch this videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3ncRXlbEJUyou will learn alot about the RP90 from this video
In my experience the Digitech RP250 is the best multi-effects unit of the ones that you provided. I would not go for the RP90, as it has limited features and does not have an epxression pedal, which makes a big difference to your ability to control your sound.It has a large bank of effects, expression pedal, ability to record music, ability to use in a live situation, and a versatile range of tones.It is well built as well with a sturdy metal casing, which the others do not have. It is also built in USA, which generally means that you will get better quality.As for the Line 6 models, the features do not really match the Digitech’s. They also have limited use if you are a serious musician, particularly the pocket POD.All in all, the Digitech will give you the best bang for your buck.Hope this helps =)
