I have gotten at lesat 10 times the value of my purchase from my Mic Stand. Mic Stand has completely surpassed my expectations.

How do I get a Shock mount for a condensor mic to fit on a regular mic stand?
I have a standard mic Mic Stand stand with the standard size threads, but my shock mount for my mxl 990 condenser mic will not fit on the the screw threads on the mic stand. Is there a cheap solution or a solution at all?

    Duct tape?

  2. Andrew O says:

    Try Toronto.

  3. william f says:

    try a pawn shop. 10-15 $

  4. Ken C says:

Well, sure you can. If the threads match up, the go right ahead. Now, you obviously can’t extend the boom as far with a round mic stand base as you can with a tripod. If your boom has a counter-balance on it (a weight on the end opposite the mic), that helps. But, I see that less and less on booms now.Good luck.Greetings from Austin, TXKen

The pick’s colors are insignificant…Why they are there have many reasons…Number 1 is for the musicians to have easy access to them (picks) if the ones they are using falls off their hands in the middle of a performance…Number 2, it is for aesthetic purposes…it adds attraction to the eyes of audiences…and number 3, many guitarists have a habit of giving souvenirs to their fans and picks are the most easy to give out and they are the most practical souvenirs to be given away, too…P.S.An experienced musician here…Hope this helps…

Use glass or Plexiglas as a material for the stand, or think of the fiberglass with suitable decoration

  7. Irene says:

Awee, I’m really sorry to hear that you didn’t get that many laughs. I hope you’re not too upset about it. :( I don’t think you should get rid of all of the material. Are there any jokes that you actually think aren’t that great or there could be a better joke in that place? Also, if you remember which ones didn’t get that many laughs, you could re-evaluate them and see if you really like ‘em and want them in or if you could somehow make them funnier. :D

  8. Gary says:

Yes. It’s the bracket holding the microphone thas absorbs the shock.

  9. Daniel K says:

Your mic comes with a stand mount adapter – that is all you need. It fits on any standard mic stand:http://www.zzounds.com/item–MUP7701BYou do not need a shock mount in most cases if you are careful to avoid vibrations being conducted through the stand (i.e. don’t stamp your feet while recording).

  10. jdan9 says:

Did you bother reading the item description? It says “…with a vertical extension ranging from 35″ to 63″.” So it can be up to 63 inches tall. Compare that to where you want it to be, and you have your answer. Simple enough.

  11. Brianne says:

There are lots of good comedians out there, and you should expect competition. Not everyone is successful. If you feel confident, go for it! Theres absolutely nothing holding you back.

  12. Ken C says:

The shock mounts that come with that mic are industry standard 5/8″-27. If your microphone stand is in fact “standard”, it should fit. However if your mic stand has “Euro” threads (3/8″-20), then you can purchase an adapter to take care of this:http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/QuikLok-Mic-Stand-Euro-Thread-Adapter?sku=450002At about a $1.50, I would classify that as a cheap solution.Greetings from Austin, TxKen
