I had to buy several items just to realize that Channel Wireless was the best choice for the price all along. The only negatives I’ve found were that there are better units available, but they are more expensive and the reviews I found on them were on the negative side. So here’s my final word. I 100% endorse Channel Wireless and will even show you some places to get it even cheaper than retail.
How do you change your wireless channel?
HelloI just asked this question and was answered to put 192.168.2.100 Channel Wireless in the address bar, when i put this in it keeps saying unable to load page. I cant reply in the original message. Does this number depend on the wireless router make? I have a netgear routerthank you

The normal reason to change the channel would be to not conflict with other 2.4Mhz spectrum equipment in the home. Like a wireless telephone system or a garage door opener.Channel 1, 6, or 11 are the usual preferred channels to use.Link 1 below is a Linksys FAQ page that may give you a little more information about your question.Link 2 offers some tips for best practices on setting up your home wireless network.
No, it is not faster. The different channels are used to avoid interference (disturbance) from neighboring wireless routers. If you live in an apartment building, chances are that your signal is being weakened by your neighbors. By going to another channel you can get a better signal (or a worse one if your neighbours are using this). Many routers have channel 6 as the default, so it is a good idea to move to channel 1 or 11.
The best channel for any wireless router is 1, 6 or 11
Try Netstumbler. There are also apps that cost money — omnipeek/aeropeek, which do packet capture.HTH.
