computer-recording Usb Midi Free Significant Tip

Overall, the Usb Midi was great, and I have no problem recommending Usb Midi for anyone wanting one. LOVE THIS Usb Midi

What is some good software for a keyboard with a usb midi output?
Free and paid Usb Midi software reviews would be helpful. I have a digital Casio keyboard and a midi in/out usb cable. Software with different keyboard sounds would be cool.

hmm, I’ve wondered about this too. I hope someone can shed some light.

  2. Left-T says:

If you have the correct Midi to Usb, its not the cable that will give you the error. Its how you set up the software. Always go in preferences and select GENERIC as your MIDI input. Nine out of 10, it will work.Read the manual and understand the output configuration. The DRIVER is always the main culprit wit this particular unit so try a few driver by starting with the GENERIC Driver I suggested.

  3. Bonkers! says:

yes, it should work. if you are using really old software on your computer (and I mean really old) it may not, but the usb cable has both the interface and cable built-in.

  4. 2 says:

Yes as long as your EZ150 Yamaha has the Midi interface port.

  5. cocteaux says:

No there shouldn’t be – but if you’re hearing some sort of hiss or buzz, there’s probably a grounding issue with your computer or soundcard.

You can go to the Yamaha website support section to get the latest drivers:http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Catalog/Catalog_GSXOXX/0,,CTID%25253D410000%252526CNTYP%25253D,00.htmlYou can just use a USB cable. The midi ports on the MM6 are mostly for chaining other midi instruments through the MM6. So, you can still record in midi by using the USB port. Your sequencing program (I think it comes with a version of Cubase?) will automatically see the usb midi connection and record/play from it.Oh, you’re using Fruity Loops… well, I dunno much about that app. But I think Fruity Loops is mainly a audio-type music writing tool – not so much midi? Midi is more for using music notation – instead of using audio loops and wav files.Good luck,Donk

Stereo Mini To RCA “Y” Cable. That goes from your laptop to Amp then hook speakers to your Amp

  9. Alex P says:

i would just return it and get another one. the odds of getting another faulty one are slim

  10. juparave says:

I think that you should record the audio output of the Micron, not the midi instructions. The midi instructions will only play the same sound if you have all the patches, sequences, etc inside your computer which you don’t.Look for the stereo audio output on the Micron and plug it to the stereo input of your computer’s sound card, that should do the job.

  11. audioloops says:

It probably doesn’t show up at an Akai LPD8 in FL Studio, just set it up as a generic controller, should work fine.

  12. Larz says:

It’s not just a cable you need, there an actual interface circuit required, complete with a microprocessor. You can get an interface that looks like a cable, but there’s actually some electronics in one end or the other. Here are three places where you can get a USB MIDI interface for $30.http://www.zzounds.com/cat–2434http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=usb+midi+interface&st=http://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=usb+midi+interface&rkg=1If you really wanted to build your own, I can certainly explain that too, but you’ll need electronics and micro controller hardware and programming knowledge, and you’re highly unlikely to do it for under $30. If you do want to learn this sort of thing, there are quite a few DIY MIDI interface articles out there, but since you are a guitarist, I’m kinda guessing this is beyond your skill level (I’M JUST KIDDING!!). Here’e some more info if you’re interested.DIY MIDI interfaces:http://home.comcast.net/~rblang/midiator/midiator.htmhttp://www.embedds.com/diy-midi-interface-for-usb/

Yes… i had a friend on X-box live just pick one up from his local music store. But be aware that they are expensive and the ones from redoctane are free.

  14. tlbs101 says:

If there are no MIDI connectors on the keyboard (only audio jacks), then a USB to MIDI adapter won’t do you any good.Sorry.You’ll have to connect the line-output from the keyboard to your line-input on your audio card or computer line-in jack (with the proper cables and adapters). Then you can record the audio onto your computer..

  15. Techgique says:

To start “recording” music you need something that the Mic will plug into AND provide phantom power (since it is a condenser Mic). If you are just trying to make beats, you could use the soundcard on your computer, but trust me, the sound will be much lower quality and worse, you will experience latency (time it takes a note to play from when you press a key) with your MIDI device (I’m assuming it’s a keyboard).I’m only basing my interface suggestion on your Mic, because while it could be a bit better, at least it’s not a toy from Walmart. There are higher-end options, but even a cheap interface can sound good with a great Mic, so look to upgrade the Mic after getting an interface. Check out some available USB interfaces from M-Audio:http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.family&ID=USBinterfacesFor a wider option list, go to sweetwater.com and search “USB Audio Interface” Firewire interfaces will be more expensive, but typically wil have more features and capabilities. Just so you know what you are buying, the interface takes the sound we hear (Analogue) and converts it into sound that the computer can understand and redraws it as information (Digital). Remember to make sure that your device has phantom power though (i.e. – Fast Track USB does not, but the Fast track Pro does) so that you can use your mic. Cheers

Ebay is probably your best option and bet

  17. audioloops says:

The nanopad’s pads can be assigned to trigger any sound source (including loops/beats) in FL Studio with MIDI learn. The X/Y pad can also send MIDI CC so you can change parameters in FL Studio or external plug-ins.btw, in case you end up buying a license for FL Studio, here’s my promo link for 10% discount on a purchase from Image-Line: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=BACJBAA468Just make sure you get the right version. The demo is basically the same as the Producer Edition, except for some of the generators like Sytrus and Directwave that are only available in the Signature Bundle. You can compare the editions here: http://flstudio.image-line.com/documents/editions.html
