Check out this review:

No joke, when I was looking for Lexicon Omega the other day, I was having one heck of a time finding it online. When I did finally find it, I made sure I bought it quickly. What follows is my review.

I was impressed with Lexicon Omega plain and simple. When I placed my order, I had in in my hands within 3 days and that’s no joke. The key is looking for a seller with over a 100 feedback rating on Ebay. I’ve even included an Ebay listing to Lexicon Omega in this review to make it even easier on you.

Jehovah's Witnesses. Attached is a draft of an article I am working on. Is it of interest to you?
A Possible Example of the Divine Name in a Second Century Christian ManuscriptIn a second century BCE Septuagint Manuscript (Dead Sea Scroll, 4Q-LXX Leviticus-B) the divine name (traditionally, Jehovah or Yahweh) is represented in Greek as ΙΑΩ; or Iota, Alpha, Omega. This form "ΙΑΩ," is also found in what appears to be a second century CE Christian manuscript, which either quotes or paraphrases the book of Revelation. However, since I have not yet been able to access said manuscript, please consider this paper to be conjectural. The manuscript is PMich 155, 3. The reference is found in Bauer's Greek English Lexicon of Lexicon Omega the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature; under the heading: "ειμε. I. As predicate 'to be.'" In the edition I have [ISBN 0-226-03932-3] this is found on page 223 in the left column. The text presented in the passage found in Bauer says:"ο ων θεος ο Ιαω κυριος παντοκρατωρ"Literally, "The being God the IAO lord almighty.Bauer then cites Revelation 11:17. However, Revelation 11:17 reads differently: Λεγοντες ευχαριστουmεν σοι κυριε ο θεος ο pαντοκρατωρ ο ων και ο ην οτι ειληφας την δυναmιν σου την mεγαλην και εβασιλευσας. - Revelation 11:17This is not therefore a direct quote from Revelation 11:17.Yet even though this is not a direct quote, it does appear to be an example of the divine name in a second century Christian writing. However, this possible example of the divine name needs to be confirmed or denied by direct examination of PMich 155, 3. Notes:As an overview, Παντοκρατωρ (Almighty or All Powerful) appears in both the Christian scriptures and the Septuagint. In the Christian scriptures it appears once in Second Corinthians and nine times in Revelation. In the Septuagint Παντοκρατωρ occurs a total of 144 times, with most occurances in the minor prophets.Sahidica.org - oxyrhino@hotmail.com. 5-19-2010.Copyright (c) 2010 by J Warren Wells. All interfaces will have latency if you are trying to monitor your recording from the computer – you need to monitor your recording with headphones connected directly to the interface and make sure you have the Monitor Mix control all the way over to “Direct”. This will remove all the latency.I have the cheaper Lexicon Alpha and it makes great recordings. If you still feel the need to get another interface:http://www.amazon.com/Mackie-Onyx-Blackjack-Recording-Production/dp/B003VZG550/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1280502908&sr=1-2

something is wrong with those links cuz they are just black text and i can’t click on them but general rule of thumb is interfaces are about 50 bucks per input.an 8 input interface can easily cost 500$some things you may want to look forphantom power (for condensor mics)24 bit or higher bit depthyou can easily find a 24 bit 2 input interface with phantom power for 120$if you really want 8 inputs (for recording a band or whatever) your gonna cough up some change but some of the benefits is that most 8 input interfaces not only cost more but they have better preamps for adding gain with out noise or distortion. some people pay 1000$ just for a nice preamp with ONE input.so really there is no best, just make sure it has 24 bit, and phantom power, and the rest is up to you and your wallet to decide.

“m-powered” is pro tools way of saying that it works with “M-Audio” brand interfaces.http://www.revolutionaudio.ca/protoolsmpowered.htmlThe Lexicon Omega is another brand.http://www.zzounds.com/item–LEXOMEGAThe M does not stand for midi. The Omega is a great interface and it comes with software for recording.

Yeah…don’t forget some good monitors. I think the Mackie HR824’s would be a good choice for your genre of music. Also, you’ll want to do some acoustic treatment for the room you will be recording in. Do a google search for Home Studio Acoustic Treatment, and you’ll get some good ideas.

I personally am very glad, and so are many others, that individuals will and do take the time to do the research to get to the truth of the usage of God’s name in old manuscripts. This will hopefully add to the evidence that the name should be there and has been removed or replaced with substitutions which cloud the importance of the Almighty himself. Many thanks for the hard work.

The mic itself is probably fine – mics rarely have problems and usually last for many years. My guess would be that the Lexicon may have a problem or maybe the soltware. You might try reloading the Lexicon software or maybe downloading Audacity and try that.http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

  7. Colanth says:

Compatibility is with the operating system, not the CPU. As long as the CPU can execute x86 instructions (which an i7 can), there shouldn’t be any compatibility issue.

No, it will probably fry something. I used an adapter with a higher voltage output for my camera once and burnt the whole inside of it, the thing literally had smoke coming out of it!I’m not an electrician and I could be wrong, but I would advise against it.

Looks to me like the instrument input is just a “front” connection for line 3. Note the line connecting the jack to the line 3 knob on the front. Most likely, this is so you can easily jack in with a guitar (or whatever), rather than having to reach around the back.

With this equipment and software, you may only have the capabilities to do personal guitar and vocal work. Aside from the computer, the most expensive and powerful toys of digital recording should be the software and interface hardware. The Lexicon is a good starter interface, to get yourself practice recording. I strongly suggest getting something besides cakewalk. Cakewalk substitues abilities for being over-user friendly. Meaning a child could program it but it can’t do much. I suggest using the Cubase LE software that came with the Lexicon.Your Peavy effects rack will not be used much once you see all the VST effects on board Cubase. External effects should be something specificly off-the wall. Cubase already has reverbs, delays, chorus’s, etc.Once you practice with the Lexicon, upgrade to something with 6-8 simultaneous inputs. The omega has 2 XLR’s. With 8 you can practice drums or full bands.*look into what your computer needs for a dual monitor system. It makes life so much easier.

I don’t really recommend getting any of the Lexicon interfaces. But if you really need to here’s what I suggest::All you need is the Lambda because the Omega just offers more inputs. The Lambda will give you 4 inputs (2 Mics and 2 Line inputs (Guitars, Keys, etc.).As for which one is better, well they are the same. One is just simply bigger. It’s like looking at a 4 Channel Mixer and an 8 Channel Mixer of the same model. They have all the same equipment and quality, one is just bigger. I really really though, hope you reconsider getting a Lexicon AI. Their quality is poor. They pack a lot of inputs in them, and it reduces on the quality of the preamps and converters. Check out one of these:Tapco Link – $150http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LinkUSBThis only has 2 Mic Inputs, but that is all you need for your rap right now. The preamps by Tapco are way way better than the Lexicon. Plus it comes with Tracktion. Which is a lot easier to learn and use than Cubase (comes with the Lexicon). Tapco Link Fire – $199http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LinkFW4×6If you can afford this, it’s the way to go. It’s the same as above but it’s Firewire which gives you less lag and better qualtiy than USB. Just make sure you have a Firewire port in your computer. Presonus Audiobox – $150http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AudioBoxUSB/This has 2 inputs as well. And Presonus is a company that makes preamps, compressors, equalizers, etc. so they have respectable quality. This comes with Cubase. So if you need Cubase, then this is the way to go. Again, way better than that Lexicon.Presonus Firebox – $299http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FireBox/This again is the same as above, but it’s Firewire, so you’ll get better quality than the USB. It’s got Cubase as well.Just look at those suggestions. I promise you’ll be happier with one of those than the Lexicon. I’ve compared the Lexicons with others side by side, and the Lexicon is almost always on the bottom.Good Luck.Oh hey, also. Eventually you’ll want to make beats, I’m assuming. And people will say use Fruity Loops. But Fruity Loops is nothing compared to Reason. You’ll eventually want to invest into this software. It’s what a lot of the producers use for Rap Music in the studios.http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Reason4/

sorry i don’t have any experience with those mics. no matter what mic you get make sure you get a pop filter

only reason a sound card should effect audio is if your using a microphone plugged into the card to record stuff or in the actual playback if its a shitty cardif your just talking about ripping from a cd and the like its all how its encoded that effects it
