   For the problem you are experiencing, you can use the piano roll as somebody else mentioned to specify length. The one I pointed you to isn’t anyone I know or have borrowed from, just an example of an artist there who puts out free beats for downloading purposes. You could ask around the site if there is anyone willing to let you have it for the purpose you need. Always a-s-k. Some might say no. Also, you could do a search at Tucows.com, a search engine. They tend to list various shareware and freeware programs that might have some sample beats you don’t, including those that allow you to upload your very own sounds.Have you tried experimenting with using items at home to make sounds you can mess with? Water dripping into a cup of water, glasses tinkling, tapping on a wooden chair, etc. Any ordinary little thing could jazz things up.
