For your money, a Remo will give you a good sound. Pearl and Yamaha are really for the guys and gals who can dish out the big bucks. What you have is a solid set that will allow you not only to delve into the basic rock rhythms, but also into other styles such as jazz, samba, and dance patterns. As a matter of fact, your set is actually prime for jazz styles. So, in all, it’s a great set, and if one day you want to upgrade your set and you have the money, go for it. However, stick with that set you found. You’ll get a lot of life out of it for the money you pay.
No, they are not loud. I have a set. You are talking about the kind that does not look like the top half of a real drum right? The ones that look like the top portion of real acoustic drums are not really electronic drums but they use a trigger system that attaches to the drum head/skin. That type is loud because they have heads and shells just like real drums. The rubber type pads which are more common don’t make much sound. You can get an idea of what they sound like by hitting your drumsticks on some hardcover books. Thats about the same volume as the rubber type pads.
pin old quilts or towels around the area. if you can old office dividers are great. (thats what i use got them for free). For the kick drum put a towel in there it will quieten it and give it a better sound. If you do decide to spend money you can buy silencing pads for each drum and cymbal(s).Hope that helps
the rock band drumset will only work with both ghwt and rb2 on xbox 360.i think though that the ghwt set works for both because on the front of the rock band 2 cover it says compatible with most musuc game controllers.activision has already stated that the rock band set wouldnt work with wii.
If you have acquired them legally, there is no legal liability
There are many various solutions and problems associated with your dilemma. As Ryan said, the genre you wish to learn fuels this answer heavily; it would be extremely difficult learning to play, for example, technical death metal without a proper drumset. On the other hand, if you’re looking to play more simple genres such as basic rock’n'roll, then learning without a drum set would not be a very hard thing. My advice is to get a pair of drum sticks and a couple of practice pads: These things are available at musiciansfriend.com, or, if you’re short on money, craigslist and ebay. The bare-bones basics of rock drums (An area that I am very experienced in) are the bass drum, snare drum, and hi-hat. You can go to youtube to take a look at these drums, and to hear what they sound like.A couple of basic rock beats:http://content.mahalo.com/images/d/d4/RockBeat_EB_120707.jpghttp://content.mahalo.com/images/a/a2/RockBeat2_EB_120707.jpgPlease feel free to contact me at indecencyisrelative@gmail.com with other questions: I’ve been behind the set for many years.Have a nice day ^^
Probably 6×5 of space. Not much different than a standard 5 piece accoustic kit.If your talking a roland v pro concert kit.Might take up a little more room.
The fusion was adapted for a more rounded tone, do not expect a loud thunder type sound from such a kit. It is simply a mixture of the rock and jazz kits, it should give you a sound somewhere in between not to bassy and not to deep. Still when purchasing one go and check the sound out.
sounds like a lot of work. You should have bought rock band 2. How exactly do you know the drums are working? Is it the actual dongle that plugs into the usb’s on the ps3 that isn’t responding? You may have defective equipment, check out the RedOctane website for a warranty claim if you need to. I bought the guitar/game bundle in January and the strum bar on the guitar was defective I had to do a warranty claim with little hassle (just sending back the guitar, they sent the shipping label via email) I received a brand new guitar for my troubles. I am not sure if this is standard with warranty claims or if my guitar was just not able to be fixed. There should be a link from the GHWT website that will take you to the RedOctane site regarding equipment issues. Good luck. my psn id is DraglineGrizzle, look it up.
Are you sure they allow trade in? I doubt that you can just return for a refund. I would just put them on craigslist.
Drums are expensive sadly. Any mistake can be a costly one.Best thing is if he gets a good teacher, start off with sticks and a practice pad to see how seriously he takes it before the expense of a kit. This is how I used to start all my students, to make sure they really want to do it, and not leave the parents forking out a lot of money on something which collects dust (especially given the room they take up too!)If he definitely wants to stick with it (pun intended – poor I know), then the best thing is to go to a drum store and try a few out for sound. Once you know what you’re looking for then search around for either a decent mid-range kit if that’s what he likes, or a batter one second hand from ebay or somewhere similar. It’s best not to scrimp on something new and cheap as his interest will wane with the sub-par equipment (the cymbals in these packages don’t sound right and also bend and split which is pretty dangerous, and the shells of the drums are very poor quality and give quite a horrible sound – the hardware couldn’t even be called that and often falls apart quickly. Try to avoid these kits).Just remember the choice of heads is going to affect sound a great deal, so if you end up with any kind of kit, replace the heads and cymbals mid-range and high end kits do not usually come with cymbals or hardware, but there are often packages available and if you buy second hand they could be included). Gradually he will get an idea of the hardware out there and get a feel for what is going to work best for him.
Yes, if you have the adaptor.
around $400 without the cymbals would be fair if it’s in good condition. i’m not sure how much to add for the cymbals and hardware.
The diameter of the legs are different on some drums which accounts for your problems. What my drummer did was file down the top side of the leg and it worked.
I’ve been a pro drummer for 35 years…..the answer is ” No “. Only by putting material inside will change your tone. Cover up and have fun!
You could spend $20 on a good single practice pad and it is no different than practicing on a real snare drum for the most part. You could take snare drumming as far as you want to on a pad. If you can spend $150 this practice pad set would allow you to do anything (in terms of practice) that you could do on a real set. http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/DW-Go-Anywhere-Practice-Set?sku=490186
pirataviejo is tool, Go for it! I play Drums and Classical Guitar – Grade 8 on Both. The only negative way one might affect the other is if you spend all your time on one and not the other. But otherwise, saying drumming will affect your guitaring is like saying running will affect your swimming, or Drawing will affect your writing. In a sense your Guitar may even benefit from playing the drums, in terms of rhythm and time Signatures etc. Likewise, your guitaring will probably benefit learning the drums in terms of ‘being musical’I'd Go for it,
