You could buy the Mbox, because M Audio and Digidesign are both compatable with each other. (sister companies) You can also check out this great little article on setting up a home studio at http://www.audioneeds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208 – it’s quite helpful. Actually, joining that forum would be a good idea, because it’s free and there are tons of sound engineers there that are dedicated to helping people out who are new to this. I think you will benefit from it.
The problem with buying a bundle is that you sacrifice quality to save money. A good studio vocal mic can easily cost over $600.00. If you save up your money and purchase good quality equipment you will end up saving money in the long run. You will probably never have to upgrade. Remember, old, quality equipment sometimes becomes vintage and you can turn a profit eventually! You will be able to record your own songs with the bundle. If you are new to this you might need someone to help you set it up. In addition, there also might be other items you need to purchase, but I have no idea what you are working with.I have been independently recording for over 7 years. If you have any questions I can help you out. But I’ll need a better understanding of what you have.
