Audacity is a free audio-editing software. It has a change pitch option, a change tempo option, and a Change Speed option. You could use the change Pitch option, and it will leave the pitch alone, while speeding up the drums.
That actually happened to me the other day. It wouldn’t let me audioswap, so I just deleted it. But you may have to wait for it to process fully. Then you will be able to.

Final Cut isn’t skinnable program. You’ll have to accept the UI the way it is. Focus on the beauty of the video you are making and don’t worry to much about the utilitarian look of FCP.
