You can downgrade it, but it’s hard though. The easiest way is to install fresh copy of XP. Put your CD into CD/DVD ROM Drive and restart your laptop. While your laptop is starting up, there should pop up something like this: “Press any key to boot from CD”, so press it. If you don’t see this message, click on “Delete” or “F8″ button while your computer is starting up then menu should appear. Select boot option, and use your CD/DVD Drive as default boot directory (If you have 2 CD/DVD Drives, make sure it’s the one where is your CD). No, you cannot. There is no upgrade path from XP to Windows 7. Only Vista will upgrade to Windows 7. You can install Windows 7 and have it reformat your drive and wipe out XP but that is it unless you first upgrade to Vista, then Windows 7 which might get messy.
