what is the wire hanging under rear of '98 Olds silhouette to do with trailer wiring and how to replace?
This wire was connected to the back of the electrical socket for a trailer, Chassis Socket but had fallen out and was dragging on the road, so I pulled the other end from a connection under the back end of the van (it was connected to a socket attached to the chassis), and threw it away. Now, I have a trailer to haul, and I'm wishing I hadn't thrown it away. How do I replace the wire and the assembly adjacent to the trailer hitch?

the round hole on your wall socket is ground and is intended for safety to redirect ground fault juice away from you and to be dissipated to GroundIf your amp doesn’t have that third round connector in the cable and you are getting zapped then you need to get a cable that does have one and install it

Should work well together, with plenty of room to upgrade in the future.I have the same case myself, you’ll find building really easy, but you may find you choose some quieter case fans than the ones it comes with. But why go for an AMD? a couple of years back they were the dogs danglies, but now intel are the speed kings.

If your MB does not already support pci-express, you will need a new one.Unfortunately, none of the info you supplied is really relevant to this.If the new MB does not support your current CPU, RAM, etc (and the older CPU may not perform to the max capability of a new MB, if the socket even fits), then instead of a MB swap, it might just be cheaper to get a whole new system, keep the other one for a ‘backup’ or scavenge what you can from it. The old RAM may be slower than what a new PC wants too.

Nope, it clearly states Pentium 4 through Pentium D as the supported CPUs for that model, A BIOS update isn’t going to change that. Some socket LGA775 motherboads only support Core 2 duos, but not quads. Others support both, but only older models. In this case Core 2 of any type isn’t supported. Having the right socket type is a necessary, but not sufficient condition.Upgrading to a new motherboard that supports Core 2 Quads would work, but socket LGA775 is obsolete now… If you’re upgrading the motherboard you’re better off going with something more current like AMD socket AM3 or Intel socket LGA1156 (Core i3/i5)Of course any motherboard change means you’d have to purchase a new copy of Windows since the facory-installed OEM version from Gateway is restricted to the original motherboard. That restriction (a motherboard upgrade requiring a new OS) is the same for all brand-name PCs…. Dell, HP, Sony, Acer etc.http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/moving_xp.html*** Update*** Egad, now I’m being cloned?!?

i played crysis warhead in both vista and xp.windows vista is a piece of shit, go with windows xp and 2gb of ramwhen im playing crysis i still have 43% free ram, while in vista i had virtually nothing.also all games except for elder scrolls 4 run better in windows xp.you dont even need 8gb to begin with, stick with 2 or 4gbtry getting a better graphics card, like at least a 9600gt, i have 2 8600gts and i can run crysis on high, a 9500gt will only do medium.also you should try to get a graphics card with 1gb of memory for GTA 4 so you can set max view distance.i know this might cost alot but its very good.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187029or look at the 9600gt listhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%20106792522%201067937365&name=GeForce%209600%20GT

The video card should be fine, 2 gig RAM is perfect, and Samsung makes good LCDs. Not sure about the Lite-On drive (DVD? CDR?) However, a couple of things come to mind:1) Get a bigger hard drive. Western Digital makes great 400gb and 500gb drives. You might consider a dual HD system, with one 10,000 rpm drive (like the 74 gig Raptor) plus a large capacity drive from WD (300+ gig).2) Ideally, you should get a dual core processor. The AMD x2 3800+ is at a good price point right now ($299).Also a warning: AMD is switching to a new socket for its procs called AM2. Future chips will require the AM2, so if you plan to upgrade for years to come, you should go with an AM2 socket motherboard rather than the 939 socket you have now. Of course, socket 939 chips will be available a long while, it’s just that AMD is phasing it out.

You need a SERIOUS upgrade. Yes the 5200 will work in that computer. You have an agp slot.If you feel you need an upgrade… and are looking at video cards… You are playing video games. That 5200 is a dinosaur. You’d need to upgrade that upgrade. Consider a 7600GT for around $100 – of course you’d need a whole new motherboard, cpu, ram, and power supply to go with it.If that 5200 is free than take it. Otherwise save your money and buy a new system. Todays games require far more than that 5200 can provide and far more than any cpu that will work in that motherboard.
