First off your amplifier is too small for your speakers. You should be powering them with a QSC RMX1450, RMX 1850HD, or RMX 2450. But that will mainly just make them louder, it won’t really boost the bass much. The second problem is speakers with a 15″ woofer doesn’t make very good tops, so the BR15 is not a very good match up with subwoofers. They are best used as a full range speaker without a subwoofer. If you wanted music with bass you should have started with the BR10 or the BR12 speakers. Speakers with a 10″ woofer or a 12″ woofer are best suited as tops when using a subwoofer. Myself personally I would have gone with a pair of Yamaha S112V speakers. What I recommend is you add a pair of Yamaha SW118V subwoofers (about $400 each) & a QSC RMX2450 amplifier (about $630) to power the subs. And use the QSC RMX 850 to power your BR15s.It would be even better if you were using two QSC RMX2450 amplifiers, one to power the BR15s & one to power the SW118Vs.You will also need a crossover. I highly recommend the dbx DriveRack PA Processor & a dbx RTA-M Reference Microphone for the DriveRack PA.http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_dbx_driverack_pa_processor?full_sku=101779478http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_dbx_rtam_reference_microphone_for_driverack_pa?full_sku=101863165I know that’s a big chunk of money to upgrade your system, but it will turn what you currently have into a professional PA system.Since it is such a big investment, you might need to buy each item as you can afford them.First buy the dbx DriveRack PA Processor & a dbx RTA-M Reference Microphone. This is because you will need the DriveRack before you can add the subwoofers. Plus you can use it with you current set up because it’s not just a crossover. It also has all the sound processing you need for your sound system.Next buy a QSC RMX2450 amplifier, again this is something you will need before you can add subwoofers, but you will be able to use it with your current speakers.Last on the list is to buy the subwoofers to complete your PA system. Now if that’s far more than you are willing to spend, you could sell what you currently have & buy a B-52 Matrix-1000 V2 700 Watt Active 3-Piece Speaker System $850.http://pleppy.blogspot.com/2007/03/quality-budget-sound-system.htmlPersonally I think you’ll be better off upgrading your current system with the recommendations I gave you. Because the B-52 Matrix-1000 V2 can’t be upgraded. If you need to play a larger venue than the B-52 Matrix-1000 V2 can handle your only option is to buy another B-52 Matrix-1000 V2 & run the two Matrix-1000 systems together.

yeah george shouldnt comment either, you probably wont be able to get the power output out of an inverter to run that amp.you know this your a dj, your gonna have a nasty hum i think even if you get the power.you could look up 110 to 12 volt power circuits at like 10,000 electric schematics.com, then wire each sub to run a 110/12 volt converter at the right amperage, then run 2 12 volt power amps 1 in each, then put a bypass on the circuit to power in car(of course running an inline cap between your 12 volt power supply,so circuit would run 110—power circuit—power cut switch and 12 volt tap—cap—12 volt internal amp/cooling fan—speaker—backof course thats not a complete circuit, more like a plan for 2 powered subs that run on 110/12 volt.amp and fan and cap are power circuit, speaker is a secondary circuit, catch my drift?youll choose a power circuit that can provide the draw needed to run each 12 volt amplifier.now if you have a rack, you have an open massive amp for stereo mains, and next purchase would be a power conditioner(i know, a lil expensive for a good one)now your mixer has like a subout,or?

I wouldn’t want to use an amp I rely on for a business in a truck. Vibration and heat could kill it prematurely and as murphy’s law goes, it will die right before a gig. When I had a mobile DJ service, I always carried backup equipment, so if you do that, it’s less of an issue. Plus, how do you plan to power that beast in a truck? That’s going to need an expensive A/C power converter due to the amount of power that amp draws – what is it, probably 1800 watts of power that QSC draws from the electrical outlet when it’s cranked? The subs are ok to move in and out of the house/truck, but I’d definitely get a dedicated car audio amplifier to power them. That way you just have to disconnect the subs when you want to move them in the house. Also keep in mind, sub designs for home and car are different, so a sub that sounds good in the car may not sound good at home and visa versa.

The RMX amps are a decent series of amplifiers and by running your Yamaha directly in to the amp you’ll have a more “typical” scenario. I’d be willing to bet you’ll get better noise performance out of the system as a whole. Couldn’t say how much of a fidelity improvement you’ll get, but there should be some. Of course, this assumes your speakers are rated at something over 5W and won’t be turned in to shrapnel by the RMX’s output.

some crossovers have the option of setting highs, lows, and a subwoofer. if you are coming out of just the lows, it may not be getting those sounds that the crossover is wants to send to the sub, which isn’t in place. if you set the low end controls to recieve the lowest possible sound, it may help, if this is the problem.the problem may also be in the speakers or amps. (with the brands you’ve named, i’d check the speakers first) also, you may be trying to drive too much sub through the system, clipping it somewhere. since the lowest lows take so much more power to drive, they really aren’t so much meant to be heard as much as felt. aside from these, i’d have to actually look at the system to help much.

  6. Mike says:

You’re going to have to buy a crossover so that you can decide which frequencies are going to get distributed to which power amp. That way you can have a poweramp dedicated to your subs, and the rest of the signal getting distributed to the rest of your rig. Doing it any other way with two amps and multiple speaker setups is going to be a pain.

  7. Daniel K says:

Make sure the “filter” setting on the dip switches on the back of the back of the QSC amp are set to 30hz. Those switches limit the bass output of the amplifier. Switches 2 through 9 should be to the left and switches 1 and 10 will be to the right. It sounds like you have a good setup. You might want to play with the EQ settings on your mixer too. Boost the bass a bit, cut the mids a bit (that is an old DJ trick).Just make sure you are not driving your amp into clipping. That is the worst thing you can do to your speakers. Keep an eye on the clip lights on the front of the amp. Also make sure you are driving the amp from the mixer with a good signal level. Your meters on the mixer should bounce into the red a bit. If that is too loud, then turn down the level controls on the amp. You still will get the same power out of the amp.If you still aren’t happy with the bass, you might want to invest in another amp and subs. Subs really help!

The number for the adaptor is P044-06I (Just do a search on it)This will convert it to a straight blade 20 amp plug. But you will still need a 20 amp receptacle.

    heavy duty i guess
