It’s easy, just buy a AC/DC power supply 12 -14v and 5-10 A. that should work fine. Also you can get a computer case power supply which work just fine, just find something to isolate the power supply.

red is switched power, the yellow wire should be connected to a constant 12v source for memory. If you have no switched power, you can connect the red and yellow to a constant, just make sure you turn the radio off when you get out of the boat. Many people prefer to have a radio that can be turned on with out the switch being on in a boat.

HelloFirst question do you have a 2 Power supply radio?Red Fused and switched,Yellow No Fuse and Permanent. With only 1 Earth? If so, and most are now (coded) then the best you will do is to insert a 4 pin Relay The relay pins are normally marked as 30 85 86 87.Red power wire between the fuse and radio connects to 30Earth connects to 87New power supply wire (Fused) connects to 86Wire from Amp connect to 87.Amp Earth connects to good groundIf you mount the Relay in the Dash remember to leave the In-Line Fuse where you can get to it.This will mean that your Amp will turn On/Off with your ignition .Before the 2nd Power supply became common you could have inserted the Relay pin 30 on the earth wire and left the Amp turned on and it would turn On/Off with the radio.Andy C

if u double the power, theoretically u increase sound by only +3db. that’s what I’ve been taught for like 10 yrs.

Ok I Dont know If You Can buy a Connector but You can Stright Wire it in just make sure you run a voltage test on each wire comming from your PSU some times they are higher then reported I Use To Have a 800 watt amp and 2 12″ subs running from a 450 watt power supply although very unstable when you turn it up

Basically there is two fuses for the stereo one is what we call a constant 12 volt ignition fused feed , the other is a switchable 12 volt ignition fused feed and the stereo should of come with it’s own in-line fuse so that means there are 3 different fuses to check. So be sure to check all the fuses and one thing you could do is see if all the different devices or functions in the vehicle are working bec many times the stereo fuse runs another device too. Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way check the stereos ground bec grounds can cause such issues and two of these fuses are inside the vehicle in its fuse box , the other is behind the stereo deck. The best way to check these fuses is put the key in the run position , use a voltage meter or 12 volt test probe and look for power at both ends of each fuse any fuse that doesn’t give you current at both ends is faulty.

You’ll need at least a 13.8 volt 10 ampere supply. It will cost around $40.

  9. Iknowthisone says:

It would be best to use the existing power supply wires as that is what they are intended for. You can find wiring adapters that will plug into your existing factory wiring without having to chop up the harness which is always a good idea. Try Walmart or go on-line to Crutchfields or similar type chain to find these adapters. And I would guess your loss of power to all things that don’t work would be due to a blown fuse or fuses.

  10. vfisher27 says:

Your adapter may only put out milli amps, not suitable for playback for sure, not even for ejection motor. Hook up to a battery instead of the dingy transformer.

  11. smiffy23bolton says:

i don’t think you can pal, you can get a 12v to 240v converter that plugs into your cigarette lighter, but the power your amp puts out mite be more than your car audio speakers can take

  12. Starman says:

Yes. But don’t expect the quality of a real guitar amp.
