No joke, when I was looking for Crown Xls the other day, I was having one heck of a time finding it online. When I did finally find it, I made sure I bought it quickly. What follows is my review.
I was impressed with Crown Xls plain and simple. When I placed my order, I had in in my hands within 3 days and that’s no joke. The key is looking for a seller with over a 100 feedback rating on Ebay. I’ve even included an Ebay listing to Crown Xls in this review to make it even easier on you.
Clipping problem with DJ equipment? JBL JRX125s and JRx118s speakers pwd by two Crown XLS802d, BBE crossovers?
Here is our setup:4 JRX125 dual 15" speakers powered by two crown xls-802ds2 JRX118s subwoofers (dual 18") powered by one crown xls802dBBE Max-X2 crossoverWhen running Crown Xls the speakers at about half to 3/4 volume, we get the clipping warning lights. We have the gains way down and all the mids and lows set to 0 on the mixer. Is there something we are doing wrong or do we need more powerful amplifiers. Are there any techniques/setting combinations that prevent clipping? We had one of our XLS802d amps powering the subwoofers completely burn up. We were playing music about 3/4 volume level and the amp just shut off and was completely fried. Just worried here that it will do the same thing with a new one. Any advice? Thanks!

Both amps will work great. If you want a great amp for a lot less:http://www.zzounds.com/item–BEHEP4000I just don’t like to waste money – sorry.
The XLS 802D is capable of 800 watts., 400 per channel. that seems like a good match for your JRX118S speakers which are rated at 350 watts. With one 4 ohm speaker on each channel of the amplifier it should be optimum. If you have clipping, you are probably trying to get more sound than that system is capable of. You could add another amplifier and two more speakers. If you keep the level low enough so there is little or no clipping the amplifier will probably not burn up.
