Volkswagen GTI vs GLI?
In about a month or so, i will be investing in a new car. I've narrowed Gli Pro it down to the volkswagen GTI or GLI. I'm still undecided about buying new or used, but i'm trying to get other opinions about which would be the better investment. So pros and cons of both?

I set off on a similar quest in 2000 and ended up with a new 2001 VW Golf GL TDI. The Jetta has the same platform and shares most of the same parts as the Golf except for body panels. Essentially the same car but sightly heavier. I still drive my Golf every day and have accumulated 212000 miles on it. I do much of the routine maintenance myself. It is expensive to have a dealer do the simple things (I think that’s why the term “stealership” is used.). My car has been plagued with broken plastic things like cup holders, glove box door, window cranks and engine belly pan but engine, transmission and suspension components have held up well. My car is the diesel with manual trans. It smokes, stinks and coughs up blood on cold morning starts but I put up with it because of the mileage. I’ve documented 56.8 mpg for a full tank but mostly it’s in the 48 – 52 mpg range. The gasser models get reasonalbe mileage but don’t compare to the diesels. Overall I think the VW Jetta is a reasonable choice but like you, I think a Toyota or Honda might be more reliable. I have been driving for 52 years and I now own my third and last VW. Good luck with your deliberations.
Neither. Get the Jetta Wagon, and use the money you didn’t spend on the GTI packages on mods to make the car do what you want it to do. I upgraded the suspension and chipped mine, because I wanted a little quicker than stock and tighter handling, but with the stock (BORING!!!) appearance I never get hassled by the local cops.
GTI, you’re getting the Car of the year, getting great performance without sacrificing fuel economy.GLI, you’re getting a faster version of the Jetta. Both are very good cars, if you really need room I would suggest the GLI for you, both cars are same engine wise, just the space is a bit different. If you mainly want a fun daily car with performance go with the GTI, preferably the 2 door.If you want space and fun, I would go choose between a GTI 4 door or GLI
On MK1 Golf GTis produced 1975-1983, GTi had an 1800cc 8v K-Jetronic single point fuel injected engine developing 115BHP. The GLi denoted the Cabriolet version. In the UK cabriolet cars are the preserve of young ladys or hairdressers and given our, usually, poor weather they are as useful as a glass hammer. Both vehicles are good for 114mph (0-60 in 8.2 seconds) but can easily be modified. Mine was a 1900cc TSR-Performance 8v 152BHP and rather faster than the previously specified maximum speed!
Angel – DJ and live sound equipment are not much different. I am a DJ and live sound guy and I use the same equipment for both. DJ amps and speakers can be used for live sound. A DJ mixer cannot be used for live sound (not enough mic inputs). The bar owner is partly right.I would NOT recommend the GLI Pro amp though. There is a lot of cheaply made sound equipment that is marketed to DJ’s that is pure junk. If you need a cheap power amp that is really well made:http://www.zzounds.com/item–BEHEP4000I own three of these and they are super reliable and the sound is great!
If your a car buff who’s into the whole racing thing. Go subaru and it’s all wheel drive. aha but to me the altima has a old grandma look.
well thi is from personal experience. Scion Tc: PROS. look nice, stylish headlights, lots of aftermarket parts, cheap, fuel efficient, big sunroof, good gas mileage.CONS: lacks in power ya its got 160 but its not fast, everybody has one.cobalt ss:PROS; fast car for a 4 cylinder, nice interior, looks nice front end, and its comfy for a small car.CONS: had bad experience with the supercharger heating up. lots of problems with that. it looks gay in the back with the lil circles and it just looks gay. high insurance because its an SSCivic SI: good strong 160 hp DOHC engine. lots of mods you can do to it. hey look real nice. fairly cheap to fix. CONS: its a honda civic.ive never owned or driven a VW Jetta so i have no experience watsoever on those. But have owned cobalt ss and civic si. and my bro has a TC
don’t know new ones but past VWs have had bad Balljoints, bad coils and bad injectors…Check with consumer reports for frequancy of repair info
The Acadia is a great choice. I have one and could not be happier. I love your comments to those who make assumptions based on a two sentence posting! The Acadia is a newer model, so there will not be alot of information on resale as of yet. The Nitro is a good vehicle, but if you are concerned about resale, the amount of the discount is also going to be a factor in the resale value. For all the people who have no idea what they are talking about, I am averaging 25 mpg plus, which is very good for a people hauler. You would be very impressed with the Acadia.Good luck
