Best tube amp for low end Technical death metal/sweeping and shredding?
I have been thinking about buying the peavey 6505+. I have played and recorded on it and I loved it. I just wished it was a little heavier perhaps. I tried the mesa dual and triple rec. and I was not too impressed. I have an 8 string esp guitar and I need a tube amp that can produce Amp Triple quality low end but can also provide the sustain required for sweeping and shredding at 300+ bpm. I also have a question as to what people think about the different tubes one can buy and which are best for very low end rhythm/sustained shredding. I am in a technical death metal grindcore/jazz/neo classical/experimental band. My style is a mix of lead and rhythm although even my rhythm is leadish. What does everyone think about vader cabs? Thanks guysI tried the mesa boogie dual and triple rectifiers. They did not have enough punch and the controls were very fickle. I found it impossible to get the sound I was looking for. The distortion was weak and The sustain was not what I had hoped for.

well i actually had the same problem in one of my cars running an 800w pioneer to one alpine type r 12″. what i did was i took a volt meter to make sure there was constant power coming from the hot wire, and there was so after then i made sure there was ground but when i would turn it on it would show some ground going to the amp, but after i turned it up the ground would go to 0, meaning it wasn’t enough ground of course, so take a volt meter and check that for starts, and that will give you an idea of how good your ground and power is going.for second i had that problem with an 1850w mono block amp going to 2 10″’s and when i turned it up the protection would turn on, so i opened the box and realized the recent people wired it with some 20g wires which is way to small so i put some 12g running to the speakers and that fixed the problem.i’m kinda new at this, these are just my experiences, if i dont make any sense sorry.
I’m assuming you checked all the fuses? make sure that your power wire fuse is compatible with the amplifier fuse. The reason i say this cause i recently had a problem with my amp and come to find out my power wire fuse was only 30amps but my amplifier was pulling 40 amps.
Take it to a qualified service technician. Without testing it, no one can really give you an answer.
Check what’s recommended by Alpine for an enclosure for the sub and make one for each. Running on amp on three subs is tricky as the amp must be 1 ohm stable and each subs power handlind must be at least 1/3 the power handling at the required impedance.See my site for more info http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com
Mesa rocks.Peavy and Crate are for beginnersmesa boogies are built like tanks and will deliver years of “power chords”
