I went to hasting and bought a cable that has a tape connected to it. I’m almost pretty sure that you can connect the cable to the mp3 to the player. I’d check it out.

Explain what you have and I will tell you how to do it.

A preamp and power amp are two very different things. The preamp is volume, tone, selection, inputs at a constant voltage. The power amp makes it LOUD. In the home theater amp, there is one preamp and 5 power amps, one for each speaker. In the mixer there is a multichannel preamp (mixer), and an amp for each speaker, usually two. Some mixers have amps, although most don’t. The inputs on the mixer are for line level, (recorded music source) instruments, or mikes before amplification. You cannot double amplify. If you do not understand this, find some one who does before you blow up your speakers. Speaker rating is meaningless. Playing music loud in your home only uses about 5 or so watts. And, watts are meaningless too. You need high current (read high quality) for PA work as the current demand (work load) is high. Cheap amps can’t supply enough current, then the amp clips (distorts) sends a distorted signal to the speakers and fries the voice coil. That’s what blows up speakers. A 30 watt Denon sounds better and plays louder than a 100 watt SONY with less distortion, and cost 3X as much. My suggestion, rent a proper PA system and NEVER use your home speakers for PA work. PA speakers are very different than home speakers. They can take the abuse. As far as your original question goes, it sounds like you want to take the amplified (speaker level) output form the home theater amp and go into the mixing board. The answer is DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. You will have so much distortion that your speakers will turn to jelly the minute you turn it up.

An amp can deliver rated power at some rated distortion level into some defined impedance. Technical Pro rate their amps as total peak power. Their “4100 watt” amp, for example (link 1), is rated as 2×670 watts (rms) @ 4 ohms (or 355 watts @ 8 ohms)… a lot less than 4100 watts! The distortion level for their amps are not listed though, and many mediocre amps are power rated at higher distortion levels than quality amps, so it’s possible these amps would be even lower power rated by some companies. You say you are wanting to drive 15″ 4 ohm subwoofers. Many subs have their own amps, but certainly an external amp isn’t unusual. And a powered subs in addition to a main amp for the main speakers is common. You don’t state what your intent is here though. That said, the 1500 watt rating (likely peak, not RMS power) on the speakers is the maximum power the speakers can handle, NOT the amount of power they require. It is better to have too much power than not enough. The amp and speakers should work fine together since the amp and speakers are both rated for 4 ohms. That said, there won’t be any leftover watts. The loudness of the speakers (and the amount of power used to drive them at that level) will be dependent on the volume setting. It could be that you will use 2-10 watts for a reasonable loudness (hard to say since efficiency of speakers varies widely). Keep in mind that loudness is not linearly related to power. See the 2nd link for a discussion. Bottom line is that it takes thousands of times the power to increase loudness by as little as 10-15X. So at all but the loudest setting you will be using MUCH less than full power.Note that Technical Pro is exactly that … a professional amp. While it can be used at home it is more normal for more professional use. Stability and robustness may take precedence to strict audio quality. Hope that helps.

  6. Starman says:

Yes. But don’t expect the quality of a real guitar amp.

  7. silent bob says:

if you have a 12V AC adaptor to power your amp, than yes it will work, however home audio equiptment, if you buy the right stuff is alot better than car audio. usually car audio is pretty cheap, it all depends on how you like your sound

  8. Daniel K says:

If it is under your bed and there is an inch or two of space above the amp, you should be ok. If your bed is right on top of the amp and blocking the vents, that would not be good. You might try raising the bed a bit somehow.

yhea u can.. just plug in.. make sure u got ur presets correct..

Contact The Maufacturer. Or Read The Manual.

  11. BEA says:

You should be able to go directly from the turntable to the PC with the proper cable.Adding the home theater amplifier would just be an extra step that could degrade the signal.

  12. Andy S says:

I’m not an audio expert…but I know what I hear. The difference between analog and digital sound is like night and day…or AM and FM. Digital is vastly better, especially if you are watching a movie with DTS sound! You can actually pick up distinct sounds from each speaker, whereas with analog connections, pretty much the same sound will come out of all the speakers. Digital is much more crisp and pronounced. If you have HDTV and a surround system already, you are selling yourself short by not getting a newer digital receiver/amplifier.

  13. KEVIN L says:

yes it will work but i wouldnt recommend it

You have many choices for your criteria. I suggest that you browse the price comparison and customer review websites to help you get what you want.
