it could be that you’re overloading your amp, depends on how you have your subs wired. don’t change the fuse to a higher one, or you’ll risk damaging your amp. 40 is the most you should go with that amp
Ya it should beat decent. Check the rms of your speaker, then get a amp that puts out X RMS. Remember, look at RMS not peak power. RMS is what really matters.
If your generator draws 1 amp, a 3 amp power supply will be ok to use. You will only have to worry if the generator draws more current than the power supply can handle. You can side step any possible over loading of the power supply by using a 3 amp fuse.
The preamp of an amplifier is used to “color” the tone. For example, your tone controls (treble, mid, bass) are located in the preamp, as is the reverb. The preamp’s purpose is to shape the sound, then feed it to the power amp. The preamp usually consists of one to nine preamp tubes, depending on the amp.The power amp takes the signal from the preamp then does most of the amplification that will “drive” the speaker. The power amp’s original purpose was to only make the preamp signal “louder,” though the power amp also colors the tone. The power amp has at least one power tube, though usually two or four, and also consists of an output transformer and a phase inverter.in a nut shell….the power amp powers the speakers and the pre amp gives it the extra power and range you could need…..hope that helps
Depends on the amplifier. There are specific amps designed for specific speakers. Class A, B, A/B, T, and digital D amplifiers are designed for full range speakers (tweeters through subs), class D amplifiers are only for subs, as they only produce low frequencies. You generally need one channel on the amplifier, for every speaker in your system, with the exception of subs, which can sometimes be run 2 or 3 to a channel.
There should be a rubber grommet about the size of a silver dollar on either side of the fire wall looking under the hood. If you cannot see one, tap the firewall on both sides with a screwdriver or something metal and you should be able to hear and feel if something is in the way. Then use a step bit to drill the hole. If you are fairly new at doing this,it will help if someone is making the tapping noise for you under the hood so you can feel it on the other side. Make sure you are not near the master cylinder or you will drill through it and lose your brakes. Most of the time on the yukons there is plenty of room on the drivers side firewall above the foot pedals. Hope this helps.
